Delhi AQI: Delhi is the most polluted in NCR, AQI is close to 400

Delhi AQI: The air quality level in Delhi-NCR remained above 400 till 5 am on Thursday. The AQI was 387 in Anand Vihar, 416 in RK Puram, 423 in Punjabi Bagh and 344 in ITO. On Wednesday, Delhi’s air quality index was 220, which is counted in the poor category. A day earlier on Tuesday this index was 279.

For the last several months, the situation due to pollution in Delhi-NCR has gone from bad to worse. Drizzle before Diwali also brought relief from pollution, but after November 13, the air quality in NCR areas including Delhi started deteriorating badly. At present the air of Delhi has come in the bad category. These days, Delhi’s air is being counted among the most polluted areas in the country. If we talk about NCR areas, the situation here too is not good.

According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the air quality level in Delhi-NCR remained above 400 till 5 am on Thursday. AQI was 387 in Anand Vihar, 416 in RK Puram, 423 in Punjabi Bagh and 344 in ITO. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of change in the weather of Delhi-NCR in the next few days.

Delhi’s air is dangerous
According to the report released by CPCB, Delhi’s air is considered to be the most polluted in the country these days. On Wednesday, Delhi’s air quality index was 220, which is counted in the ‘poor’ category. A day earlier on Tuesday this index was 279, in comparison to which a decrease was recorded in AQI.

So far this month, the air quality in Delhi has been extremely poor for three days out of 11. Between November 3 and 9, the AQI was more than 400 for six days and was in the ‘severe’ and ‘hazardous’ category and two days in the ‘poor’ category.

Delhi becomes the most polluted city in the world in the ranking
If seen globally, Delhi has now come to the first place in terms of pollution. Three cities of the country have been included in the list of 110 most polluted nations in the world. These include Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai. In the live ranking of Swiss firm IQAir on November 22, the capital Delhi is at number one. Looking at the live ranking of AQI shows that Delhi is the most polluted city in the entire world with an AQI of 341.

This is how dangerous AQI is determined
According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), an AQI between zero and 50 is considered ‘good’. An AQI between 51 and 100 is considered ‘satisfactory’, an AQI between 101 and 200 is considered ‘moderate’ and an AQI between 201 and 300 is considered ‘poor’. If AQI falls between 301 and 400 then it is counted in the worst category. An AQI recorded above 450 is considered severe plus.

Delhi’s temperature is counting day by day
The maximum temperature in Delhi on Wednesday was 25.7 degrees Celsius, one degree below normal, while the air quality has remained in the poor category for a long time. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the relative humidity in the city was recorded at 65 percent at 5.30 pm. The weather office had predicted mainly clear skies and fog during the day. If we talk about Delhi AQI, it was 344 till 5 am.
